While I definitely like where this app is going, I don’t think I can switch over from iStudiez. It seems accommodating enough for a high school student, but for university it falls short of the mark (at least for me).
It has a nice look and feel, but is lacking a few features that I need from this sort of app:
• Differentiation between *classes* and *courses*. What is currently called a “class” should really be called a “course” or “subject” (pedantically, a “class” is the physical meeting, whereas a “course/subject” is the series of classes / area of study). And instead of adding times and locations to the course, you add classes (which then have a name, time, and location). This lets you have more than one time and location for each course and lets you differentiate different types of classes (e.g., for courses that have both lectures and labs/tutorials/seminars).
With the current system, you can only add extra times (not locations…) to a “class,” and the resulting events are indistinguishable from one another.
• Ability to add ending times
• Ability to select which iCal calendar to sync with
• Calendar view (not necessary, but a suggestion)
[To the Developer]
What you have developed is a great framework for a *class*, but you need an enclosing structure (courses) for those to reside in. Essentially, replace times, locations, and teachers for classes (wherein those things are set instead). Take a look at how iStudiez lays out its terms (with subjects for each term and a timetable of classes for each subject).
